Our 2019 Dragon’s Back Race® Participants may recall that a research project was conducted at the event by Tom Hepburn from the University of Cumbria. This study investigated factors that may influence the requirement for medical assistance during the race and/or on completion. Today we are really delighted to share Tom’s research findings and his dissertation poster.

Last night the Ourea Events team revealed the new routes for day 5 and 6 of the 2021 Dragon’s Back Race® to hundreds of excited ‘Dragons in Training’ in a special online webinar

“Everyone at Ourea Events is working very hard to ensure that, if restrictions allow, we will be ready to deliver our events later this year. Any other approach simply guarantees failure. If we sat on our hands now waiting until the government announced that events could proceed again, then there would be no chance of us being ready when restrictions are relaxed, because events like the Dragon's Back Race® are complex logistical challenges that take about 12-months to organise.” 

The Dragon’s Back Race® would like to extend a warm and fiery welcome to all those who have secured a place for the 2021 event. Entries sold out in 24 hours so congratulations are in order for all the lucky participants on the entry list. Organisers are happy to see several familiar names, with many 2019 event team members choosing to return and use the event credit they earned while volunteering to participate in the 2021 event.
